Abstract:BACKGROUND: Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a peculiar disease, characterized by progressive steno-occlusion of the distal ends of bilateral internal carotid arteries and their proximal branches. Numerous studies of MMD investigated as a singular pathway, thus overlooked the complexity of MMD pathobiology.
