Transfer induced fission at energies near the coulomb barrier

Abstract: Recent attempts to observe Coulomb fission in a series of actinide targets utilising 136Xe projectiles proved ineonclusivel,2). Although fission events were observed in coincidence with back-scattered "projectile-like" particles, the characteristics found were not totally consistent with Coulomb fission being the dominant mechanism.
