“…Compared to another study evaluating characteristics of trans people living in Mexico, participants in this study were older, had better access to HRT and GASs, and were more likely to have had HIV and other STI screening tests (Lozano-Verduzco & Melendez, 2019). A possible explanation is that TW who are actively searching for vocal feminization treatments have already resolved some of the other issues faced by trans people and might be more focused on voice-gender incongruence than the TW population that is not seeking these procedures.…”
