Abstract:Shorted compensating windings or non-uniform conductive shield can be used in a selectively passive compulsator to compensate the field produced by the armature winding, thus to reduce the impedance and increase the amplitude of the output current. The compensating effect on the inductance of the armature winding changes while the rotor rotates, so it is possible for selective compensation to output a flat top current pulse. A finite element analytical model is proposed in this paper. The electromotive force i… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
