Abstract:A model is introduced in this paper to describe the transition boundaries in perpendicular magnetic recording at extremely high density. In contrary to the previous signal generation models, effects of magnetization transition curvature and the track edge fluctuations are adequately included in the new model that is designed to capture the actual transition boundaries, i.e., the variations of magnetization distribution in both down-track and across-track directions. The model is used to predict the readback wa… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
