Transmission control methods with multihopped environments in cognitive wireless networks

Abstract: Cognitive wireless network (CWN) is expected as one of the most efficient transmission methods to solve today's wireless problems like the lack of wireless bands or the efficient usage of limited wireless resources. However, CWN have not established effective transmission methods considered with QoS or user-oriented transmission methods. In this paper, selective transmission control method in CWN considering with end-to-end QoS based on user policies is proposed. First, at the observation stage, the physical d… Show more

“…As our previous studies [1][2] [3], local wireless network section is based on Cognitive Wireless Network System. In the network as Figure 2, there are fixed wireless stations with self-productive electric power system such as solar and wind system, and there are also mobile stations with wireless cars and ballooned wireless systems [4].…”

“…The policy to use the link is also set through the GUI in advance. The decision making of this link selection is held by Extended AHP method [10] which is possible to deal with various evaluated factors. The link selection method by Extended AHP is carried out in the following processes:…”

“…Moreover, the energy consumed in transmitting over large distance is proportional to distance (Heinzelman et al 2000). Thus, in order to avoid direct transmission to BS, many energy efficient routing algorithms based on multi-hop routing paradigm have been proposed (Uchida et al 2010;Hiyama et al 2010;Nose et al 2010). Furthermore, for reducing the in-network sensory traffic, several data reduction techniques such as packet merging, data aggregation and compression have been proposed for WSNs.…”
