Abstract:Experimental studies on the transmutation of some long-lived radioactive waste nuclei, such as 129 I, 237 Np, and 239 Pu, as well as on natural uranium and lanthanum were carried out at the Synchrophastron of the Laboratory for High Energies at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia. The radioactive targets (I, Np and Pu) were contained in weld-sealed aluminium holders produced by the Institute of Physics and Power Engineering, Obninsk, Russia. Spallation neutrons were produced by rel… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
