“…Risks related to ovarian stimulation are avoided. The live birth rate in patients with OTC after anti-cancer treatment is comparable to that in patients with OTC before the treatment 61 . OTC restores not only fertility but also gonadal function.…”

“…No hormonal stimulation is needed and OTC may be performed within days of the initial FP consult [28]. This method has seen exponential growth over the past 15 years with over 200 live births after autografting and live birth rates of 29-41% [3,29]. The majority of cases have occurred in women from whom OTC was harvested post-puberty.…”

“…Autografting to any site potentially preserves ovarian function throughout the lifetime of the graft, with added benefits on cardiovascular and bone health [28]. The average duration of hormone production from grafted ovarian tissue is estimated to be 5 years per graft [29]. Table 3 summarizes standard and investigational FP options with associated costs.…”

“…After ovarian tissue is transplanted back into the pelvis, the FSH level gradually comes back down to normal levels of 7 to 8 mU/mL after approximately 6 months, an interval refl ecting the 120 days it takes for primordial follicles to develop into tertiary follicles, which are the ones that produce the most estradiol, which feeds back with the FSH produced by the pituitary. 28 In May 2021, in a report by Dolmans et al 29 on the effectiveness of tissue cryopreservation, almost all women who underwent the procedure recovered their ovarian function, and about 25% gave birth to a healthy child. However, most of them had to undergo in vitro fertilization to become pregnant, and a 25% pregnancy rate with in vitro fertilization is considered low.…”
