“…150-200 mM L in D20. 6 Parameters for the intermolecular exchange process. In the case of Sr2+, Ba2+, and La3+ all coalescences lie well above 100°since all signals are still sharp at this temperature; thus for these cations AG"T(inter) > 19 kcal/mcl.…”

“…(tj1-C5Cl5)(CO)sMn is composed of discrete molecules in which the manganese atom achieves a filled valence shell configuration by bonding octahedrally to five carbonyl groups and a -bonded pentachlorocyclopentadienyl ligand (Figure 1). The C5C16~group is bonded to the manganese atom through a single carbon atom at a distance of 2.204 (6) A and possesses the normal characteristics of a -bonded cyclopentadienyl group, namely two short, 1.351 (8,6,6)9 A, and three long, 1.487 (8, 12, 13) A, carbon-carbon bonds. The four carbon atoms of the cyclopentadienyl ring involved in the two double bonds are bonded to chlorine atoms at an average distance of 1.693 (6, 4, 5) A, while the fifth carbon atom is bonded to a chlorine atom at a distance of 1.798 (6) A-observations also consistent with a -bonded cyclopentadienyl ring.…”

“…The direct demonstration of this phenomenon in enzymic reactions, which has until the present not been feasible due to the rapid exchange rates of reduced flavines, has been accomplished by the use of the flavine analog, deazaFMN, in which the N-5 nitrogen is replaced by CH.4 Bruice and his colleagues have previously used deazaflavines in model reaction studies to demonstrate direct hydrogen transfer between substrate and flavine. 6 More detailed evidence to be presented in a subsequent communication6 shows that the flavoprotein N-(1) This work was supported in part by USPHS Grant AM 13443 and Grant 1-391 from the Robert A. Welch Foundation.…”
