“…It is possible to promote the biological removal of nitrogen in treatment systems; however, the efficacy of the removal depends on the efficiency of the STS treatment. Regarding DO, it is a variable whose reduction might affect significantly the aquatic biota, and that in surface waters suffers influence of factors such as temperature and natural oxygenation, as well as the impact of organic matter 19 .
