This study refers to sculptor Caciporé Torres' career, starting from his background and contacts with Brazilian artists and his early studies in Europe, going through influences of figurative art, abstract art and up to his latest production, deeply involved with public art and social displays. Awarded at age 19 by the 1 st International Biennale of São Paulo, Caciporé Torres was, at that time, a great hope within the visual arts panorama. Today, he is one of the most important and active artists in the national art stage. How did his aesthetic path developed? Which were the motivations and languages used by the artist for expressing his poetry? Which are the techniques and materials used by the artist for composing his artwork? Those questions are included in this research, and they seek to recompose his work and analyze his poetic pathway. For this purpose, primary sources of the study are a review of representative sculpture pieces, depositions given by both the artist himself and arts critics close to the sculptor, as well as critical texts and newspaper articles mentioning his work. As secondary sources, there are critical texts, and essays enabling contextualizing of the Brazilian art's outlook during the sculptor's work time (from the late 40's until the present days). Additionally, an analysis of his pieces made for public spaces, and the interaction between art and architectural projects. .
