Traumatic respiratory failure and veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support

Abstract: Background: Respiratory failure (RF) is a common cause of death and morbid complication in trauma patients. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is increasingly used in adults with RF refractory to invasive mechanical ventilation.
