Treadmill Training Effect on the Myokines Content in Skeletal Muscles of Mice With a Metabolic Disorder Model

Abstract: The effect of treadmill training loads on the content of cytokines in mice skeletal muscles with metabolic disorders induced by a 16 week high fat diet (HFD) was studied. The study included accounting the age and biorhythmological aspects. In the experiment, mice were used at the age of 4 and 32 weeks, by the end of the experiment—respectively 20 and 48 weeks. HFD feeding lasted 16 weeks. Treadmill training were carried out for last 4 weeks six times a week, the duration 60 min and the speed from 15 to 18 m/mi… Show more

“…For example, there are many doubts regarding exercise duration and the exercise effect ( 66 ). The total time of exercise is theoretically proportional to the exercise effect, and prolonged exercise is expected to yield good exercise benefits ( 67 ). However, in the studies by Chen et al ( 49 ) and Jha et al ( 43 ), the total exercise duration of VR amounted to 1,440 min, but it did not produce the expected intervention effect.…”

“…Myokines entering the systemic circulation can have various effects on energy metabolism. Our previous publication showed that treadmill training caused multidirectional changes in the concentration of myokines in muscle tissue [57]. The content of IL-6 has changed most profoundly.…”

“…In addition, myokines collaborate with the communication that exists between the muscle and other organs, such as adipose tissue; the intestine, brain, pancreas, and liver; endothelial tissue; bones; and skin [ 47 ]. In the muscle tissue, there are also infiltrating immune cells and muscle macrophages that contribute to the secretion of both cytokines and myokines [ 48 ]. Myostatin is one of the best-known myokines because it was the first substance secreted by skeletal muscle tissue to be identified and defined as a myokine [ 49 ].…”
