Treatment of hypertension in overweight patients

Abstract: The aim of the treatment of hypertension in patients with overweight is not only normalization of blood pressure, but also improvement of endothelial function, reduction of insulin resistance and lipid metabolism. Some of the drugs with a broad therapeutic spectrum and huge evidential base, - I1-imidazoline-receptor agonists can be applied in both monotherapy and as a part of the combined therapy in overweight patients.
