“…CO 2 laser therapy is widely used in various skin diseases (e.g., common warts, seborrheic keratosis, nevi, syringoma, follicular cysts, and pearly penile papules). [11][12][13][14] The CO 2 laser is one of the most versatile lasers within the dermatologic field. The CO 2 laser is used as a cutting instrument, causing ablation and tissue vaporization.…”

“…CO 2 laser is yet another modality that has been employed in the treatment of PPPs, and it has demonstrated encouraging results. 15,16 Specifically, the continuous-wave CO 2 laser has demonstrated superior results to the pulsed CO 2 laser. 17 Complications limiting the use of this treatment, however, include an increased risk of scarring and infections as raw skin is produced after laser ablation.…”

“…Greater prevalence has been reported in uncircumcised boys and men (2). Although the lesions may regress or become less noticeable at approximately age 40-50 years (3), their appearance can cause significant psychosocial distress to affected patients and their partners, leading to the desire for early treatment (4,5). Herein we report the successful use of a macrofractionated carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) laser at full-field ablative density settings for the treatment of PPP in a 17-year-old boy using local anesthetic alone.…”
