In this study, we investigated the photo-degradation efficiency of PbSe-G-TiO2 ternary nanocomposite under visible light irritation using rhodamine B as standard dye, A nanocomposite was synthesized by ultra-sonication technique and characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopic analysis and UV-visible absorbance spectra analysis. The results indicate that PbSe-G-TiO2 ternary nanocompsite has excellent stability and good photodegradation efficiency than PbSe-G and TiO2-G nanocomposite which is approximately 92.5 % of rhodamine B degradation after visible light irradiation for 180 min.

The treatment and reuse of industrial wastewaters by membrane processes has become more attractive in the last few years due to constraints on water usage. The aim of this study was to investigate the direct filtration of reactive dye house wastewaters by nanofiltration membranes based on permeate flux, and sodium chloride and colour removal. Experiments were performed using both synthetic and industrial dye bath wastewaters with the fluxes of the industrial dye bath wastewaters lower than those of the synthetic solutions. The effects of operating conditions such as pressure and pH were assessed. Studies with DS5 DK type (polysulfone-polyamide) membranes showed that nanofiltration membranes are suitable for direct treatment of wastewaters and the permeate quality was appropriate for reuse in the dyeing process. Pre-treatment and neutralisation were important for recovery of large amounts of salt and water from the permeate stream. Neutralisation of the solution with HCl rather than H 2 SO 4 gave a better permeate from the point of view of the reuse. A series of La-doped mesoporous bioactive glass (BG-La) materials with excellent biosafety and hypotoxicity have been prepared and tested as adsorbent. The study was aimed to evaluate the possibility of utilizing BG-La for the adsorptive removal of methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution and test the adsorption and desorption behavior of this new material. The process parameters affecting adsorption behaviors such as pH, contact time, and initial concentration and the photocatalytic degradation of MB were systematically investigated. The result showed that BG-La had excellent removal rate (R) of MB, and BG-La showed better photocatalytic effect than undoped mesoporous bioactive glass (BG). Furthermore, the MB loaded BG-La was easily desorbed with acid solution due to its electronegativity and mesoporous structure. The result indicated that these materials can be employed as candidates for removal of dye pollutant owing to their high removal rate, excellent photocatalytic effect, desorption performance, and their reusability.
