Abstract: Thrombocytopenia is a frequent complication in patients with cancer, mostly due to the myelosuppressive effects of antineoplastic therapies. The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with cancer is increased despite low platelet counts. The management of cancer-associated VTE in patients with thrombocytopenia is challenging, as the risk of both recurrent VTE and bleeding complications is high.
