“…To correct for the atmospheric CO 2 concentration, we used the coefficient of −0.02 ‰/ppm (Feng & Epstein, ), which is the most commonly used value in studies of the δ 13 C org of loess (Hatté, Antoine, et al, ; Wang et al, , Wang, Li, et al, , Wang, Wang, et al, 2019). Because the carbon isotopic composition of organic matter becomes more positive after long‐term decomposition, we used 1‰ as the systematic excursion value (Melillo et al, ; Rao et al, ; Wang et al, ; Wang, Wang, et al, 2019; Xie et al, ).
