Die Geschichte aus dem Alten Testament über die tödliche Bestrafung der Flüchtlinge Ephraims durch die Gileaditer, weil sie das Losungswort »Schibboleth« nicht richtig aussprachen, findet derzeit eine Entsprechung. So sollen geflüchtete Minderjährige mit Macht an die deutsche Bildungssprache herangeführt werden. Dass sie traumatische Erfahrungen machen mussten, wird verleugnet. Erst mit einer Hinwendung zum Unbewussten – nach Freud dem Schibboleth der Psychoanalyse – lässt sich die Tragweite dieser Erlebnisse ermessen.
