Trends in incidence and mortality for ovarian cancer in China from 1990 to 2019 and its forecasted levels in 30 years

Abstract: Background The specific long-term trend in ovarian cancer (OC) rates in China has been rarely investigated. We aimed to estimate the temporal trends in incidence and mortality rates from 1990 to 2019 in OC and predict the next 30-year levels. Data on the incidence, mortality rates, and the number of new cases and deaths cases due to OC in the China cohort from 1990 to 2019 were retrieved from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019. Temporal trends in incidence and mortality rates were evaluate… Show more

“…The U.S.A has become the biggest stronghold to support ovarian cancer patients against recurrence: It contributed to the most publications with highest betweenness centrality; six of the top 10 institutions carrying out research on ROC treatment were governed by the U.S.A; three authors and six co-cited authors in the ranking lists were American. China was the only developing countries among the top 10 countries with the most publications, since the government has noticed the yearly increased mortality of OC in this region 14 and granted more ndings in this eld. However, the central score was still very low for China, and no authors, institutions or references have been seen in the top 10 lists, suggesting that more original and innovative articles are needed urgently in this country.…”

“…Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the three most prevalent and lethal malignancies affecting the female reproductive organs, alongside endometrial and cervical cancers ( 1 ). Its incidence has been increasing worldwide, and it now has the second highest yearly incidence rate among cancers of the female reproductive system ( 2 , 3 ). Epithelial OC (EOC), which constitutes 85 to 90% of all ovarian tumors, is the most common subtype ( 4 ).…”
