Tri-City Water Pollution Control Plant Phase I Expansion Project

Abstract

The Tri-City WPCP Phase I Expansion Project will include new Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) facilities to expand the plant's wet and dry weather treatment capability. Following expansion, conventional activated sludge systems will operate in parallel with the new MBR facility, providing an additional "tool" in the operator's treatment toolbox. MBR treatment has many benefits, including high quality effluent water, suitable for reuse. Additionally, the MBR facilities will better position the plant for increased use of reclaimed water and more restrictive discharge limitations in the future.
