“…The Schiff base ligand (H 2 L) and its neutral mononuclear copper(II) complex [CuL] has been prepared according to reported procedure [18] . Recently, our group has reported four tri‐nuclear Cu II −Cd II complexes involving [CuL] as “metalloligand”, and several halides, and pseudohalide [17] . Here also, we have used [CuL] as “metalloligand”, and allowed it to react with respective Mn II (carboxylate) 2 salts in 2 : 1 molar ratio in a MeCN‐H 2 O medium (10 : 1, v/v) anticipating that tri‐nuclear Cu II 2 Mn II complex would form.In case of acetate and phenylacetate salts, we got the desired products, 2 and 3 with satisfactory yield but in case of Mn II (benzoate) 2 , complex 1 separated out as sole product in low yield (∼25%).…”

“…[11b] It is worthy to note that all these metalloligands, have been synthesized by reacting a diamine with salicylaldehyde or its derivatives; napthaldehyde derivatives have never been used for this purpose until recently when we used copper(II) chelate of o-hydroxynapthaldehyde and 1,3-propanediamine as "metalloligands" to prepare heterometallic Cu II 2 Cd II complexes. [17] Here, we report the synthesis and X-ray single crystal structure analysis of three new hetero-metallic Cu II…”

“…[23][24][25][26][32][33][34][35][36][37] Exploration of the noncovalent interactions in the solid state supramolecular assemblies of these complexes is also an interesting area of research nowadays. 38,39 Hydrogen bonding, p-p stacking, cation-p/ C-HÁ Á Áp/lone-pairÁ Á Áp/anionÁ Á Áp interactions, etc. are very well known non-covalent interactions.…”
