“…Moreover, Bacilious et al 18 revealed that seroma formation was basically associated with an inflammatory reaction, and more intense inflammatory cell infiltrations and less collagen deposition was correlated with seroma formation and wound healing impairment in their histopathological study. On the basis of triamcinolone acetonide being used principally as an anti-inflammatory agent and for treating seroma, 13,14 the authors in this study applied it to prevent seroma formation in an animal model, and its effectiveness was compared with fibrin glue. As a result, triamcinolone acetonide demonstrated significant effect on the reduction of inflammation and seroma prevention, although the fibrin glue, which has been shown to reduce inflammation, 19 was also effective.…”
