“…The bond lengths of germanium and two oxygens were the same as 1.927(3) Å, respectively, and the length with chlorine was 2.275(13) Å (shown in Table ). The Ge–Cl in complex 1 has a longer distance than those of reported tetravalent complexes such as Cl 3 Ge[OCHMeC(O)NR 1 ], Cl 2 MeGe[OCHR 2 C(O)NMe], Ge(EthdH_1) 2 Cl 2 , and Cl 2 Ge[OCH 2 C(O)NR 3 ] (R 1 = Me 2 , (CH 2 ) 4 , (CH 2 ) 5 ; R 2 = (CH 2 ) 5 , Me, H; R 3 =(CH 2 CH 2 ) 2 O, (CH 2 ) 5 ) with 2.139(5)–2.270(6) Å, but is within the range of bond length. , Ge(II)–Cl bond lengths are longer than the Ge(IV) bond lengths because the Ge(II) ion is slightly larger than the Ge(IV) ion. To investigate the solid-state structures of the newly designed complexes, we applied an mba ligand with good packing ability by a phenyl group.…”
