Abstract:A versatile and efficient one-pot protocol has been developed for the synthesis of amides from easily accessible carboxylic acids and amines by employing trimethylsilyl azide as a promoter at room temperature. This reaction proceeds via an in situ generated acyl azide intermediates followed by the nucleophilic substitution of amines.
