Triple-real contribution to the quark beam function in QCD at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order

Abstract: We compute the three-loop master integrals required for the calculation of the triple-real contribution to the N 3 LO quark beam function due to the splitting of a quark into a virtual quark and three collinear gluons, q → q * + ggg. This provides an important ingredient for the calculation of the leading-color contribution to the quark beam function at N 3 LO.

“…We illustrate our method by computing these quantities through NNLO, up to the second order in the dimensional regularization parameter , confirming recent results in the literature [98][99][100]. These results are necessary input for the calculation of aforementioned beam functions at N 3 LO in QCD, where much progress has been already made for the quark T N beam function [101][102][103], and which has already been achieved for the quark q T beam function and TMDPDF [104]. In our companion papers [105,106], we complete this task by computing the q T and T 0 beam functions in all channels at N 3 LO based on the methods outlined in this article.…”

“…Currently, the quark and gluon T N beam functions are known at NNLO [43][44][45][46], and significant progress has been made towards the calculation at N 3 LO for the quark case [47][48][49]. The soft functions required for T 0,1,2 are known at NNLO [50][51][52][53][54][55][56][57][58].…”
