Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are group of diseases that are transmitted by vaginal, anal or oral intercourse. They can be viral, bacterial, parasitic or protozoal infection. Every day more than one million STIs acquired (Ott & Santelli, 2019). Viral warts are benign growths that are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection that infect skin and mucosa. HPV has more than 120 subtypes, and it is a double-stranded DNA virus. Genital warts commonly occur in perigenital areas and perianal areas, and they are usually asymptomatic. The occurring inflammation due to warts causes some sort of imbalance of oxidant versus antioxidant systems in tissues (Cokluk et al., 2015). Reactive oxygen species (ROS) as molecular oxygen (O 2), hydroxyl radicals (OH −), superoxide anion (O − 2) and hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2) in low levels participate in multiple cellular processes, such as cell differentiation cell proliferation, immune responses and apoptosis (Trouba, Hamadeh, Amin, & Germolec, 2002).
