Tumor Identification of Less Aggressive or Indolent Lymphoma With Whole-Body 11C-Acetate PET/CT

Abstract: Purpose The aim of this study was to investigate the diagnostic performance of whole-body [11C]acetate PET/CT in less aggressive or indolent lymphomas, wherein [18F]FDG PET/CT would exhibit limited sensitivity. Methods Between September 2016 and May 2018, we prospectively evaluated 17 patients (9 men, 8 women; mean age [range], 71 [45–87] years) with pathologically proven less aggressive or indolent lymphomas according to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Classifi… Show more

“…For the mixed population of indolent NHL the results of this review indicated that BMB is far more sensitive in indolent NHL than [ 18 F]FDG PET/CT and thus it is not recommended to replace the routine BMB with PET/CT for identifying BMI in such patients, as many cases will be missed. For less aggressive or indolent lymphomas 11C-Acetate PET/CT might be a promising approach although it requires further evaluation as it has been found to achieve a higher sensitivity compared to the [ 18 F]FDG PET/CT [58]. The largest percentage (about 70%) of all indolent lymphomas worldwide are FL [59].…”

“…PET‐CT is of great value in assessment of tumor burden and treatment efficacy 30 . To evaluate the role of metabolic activity of lymphoma on CAR‐T therapy, we analyzed the correlation of SUVmax, and we also evaluated the correlation of TLG, which was determined by SUVmean and TMV.…”
