“…The number of benign lesions in our series was too low to draw any definitive conclusion, but we would like to underline the peculiar aspect of connective papillae in the cases of onychomatricoma, with many small spindle cells. This aspect was very well correlated with the histopathological features, characterized by the presence of numerous fibroblasts in the connective papillae, as previously reported . This not previously described FCM feature, moreover easy to identify, can probably be considered as a clue for the intraoperative diagnosis of onychomatricoma with ex vivo FCM.…”
