Abstract:Resonance energy transfer (RET) between molecules or quantum dots is an important process in many energyrelated applications. Different environmental structures have been studied and demonstrated to be able to enhance the RET rates between a nearby donor−acceptor pair. In particular, cylindrical silver nanorods and nanowires have shown an extraordinary ability to transfer energy along their longitudinal axes over large distances. However, the detailed mechanism of such transfer and the effects on the molecular… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
