The desire to learn about the past has always been among the priorities of human beings. The reasons for this can be shown as people's curiosity about the past and directing the future. This situation has been among the priorities of education systems in reaching the desired human type. Thus, history subjects began to be taught in schools in a systematic and programmed manner through different courses. The history of the history course being taught in schools in Turkey dates back to 1869. In this context, many studies have been carried out on history teaching since the introduction of history lessons into school programs. However, no studies have been conducted to examine the studies on history teaching at primary school level. The aim of this research is to evaluate the content of theses and articles made in the field of history teaching at primary school level in Turkey and to obtain clues about the status and future direction of history teaching at primary school level. In the research based on the qualitative approach, the document analysis method was used. In the research, master's, doctoral theses and articles made and accessible in the field of history teaching in primary school were examined as documents. Within the scope of the research, 47 studies, 16 of which were articles, 28 of which were master's thesis, and 3 of which were doctoral dissertations, were reached on history teaching in primary school.
