Informational children's picture books that provide information with a science theme have important contributions to children's ability to recognize and learn science concepts correctly, develop scientific vocabulary, and most importantly, trigger their sense of curiosity. At this point, content features such as writing in an understandable language suitable for children's developmental levels and making appropriate illustrations are important in the preparation processes of informational children's picture books that provide information with a science theme, as well as their physical features. The aim of the research is to examine the informational children's picture books prepared for the early childhood period in terms of physical features, science illustration, science content standard areas, spelling, accuracy and content features. The research was carried out in accordance with the survey model, which is one of the descriptive research types. In the selection of the books included in the research, the criteria of being the publications that preschool teachers and families of preschool children can easily reach and having the most publications for informational children's picture books for children were taken into consideration. In line with these criteria, 118 science-themed children's picture books prepared by TUBITAK publications for the preschool period constitute the study group of the research. As a data collection tool, it was examined with the form prepared by the researchers by examining the national and international literature and finalized by taking expert opinion. According to the findings obtained within the scope of the research, various suggestions were made for the content of informational children’s picture books.
