Türkiye’nin Erythraeoidea ve Trombidioidea (Actinotrichida: Prostigmata) türlerinin listesi

Abstract: The present checklist provides the results of a survey of collected and identified erythraeoid and trombidioid mites in Turkey including 66 species belonging to 29 genera, 14 subfamilies, 6 families and 2 superfamilies. 14 (61%) of 23 species of Erythraeoidea and 11 (26%) of 43 species of Trombidioidea have been recorded from Turkey only. This reflects the hitherto knowledge of terrestrial parasitengone biodiversity of Turkey. Also this is the most comprehensive study that combines published academic literatur… Show more

“…Active postlarval stages (deutonymph and adult) of this family are predators and feed on various arthropods, so they may hav e economic importance (Robaux, 1974;Welbourn, 1983;Sevsay and Buğa, 2018). Until now, 13 genera belonging to the family Microtrombidiidae have been reported in Türkiye (Sevsay, 2017;Buğa and Sevsay, 2020). The genus Biskratro mbium is known only from the larva (Fan and Baker, 1993;Majidi et., 2020).…”

“…Three active stages were generally observed in the life cycle of Trombidia; larva, deutonymph, and adult. The superfamily Erythraeoidea is represented by over 900 species (Beron, 2017) and consists of the families Erythraeidae and Smarididae, which are distributed worldwide except in Antarctica (Mąkol & Wohltmann, 2012Sevsay, 2017). Free-living active postlarval instars of Erythraeoidea feed as predators, whereas heteromorphic larvae of this taxon are usually ectoparasites on various arthropods.…”

“…The fauna of Erythraeoidea is poorly known in Türkiye. Until now, while thirty-two species of Erythraeidae and only two species of Smarididae have been collected from Türkiye (Mąkol & Wohltmann, 2012;Noei et al, 2017Noei et al, , 2019Sevsay, 2017;Pamuk & Sevsay, 2020;Karakurt, 2021;Karakurt & Sevsay, 2021;Oner et al, 2021;Elverici et al, 2022;Karakurt, 2022). The present work, which aims to contribute to the Turkish mite fauna, contains 9 species of Erythraeidae and 2 species of Smarididae newly recorded from Türkiye.…”

“…Erythraeidae family species have a significant role in terms of biological control due to being mostly ectoparasitic on arthropods (Gerson et al, 2003). In Turkey, 23 species have been identified in this family so far (Sevsay, 2017).…”

“…Larval forms of this family species are mostly specialized as ectoparasitic on arthropods similar to the Erythraeidae family (Mąkol et al, 2017). In Turkey, 15 species belonging to Microtrombidiidae family have been identified by now (Sevsay, 2017).…”
