(1) Background: The Austrian health care system is extremely fragmented. Primary care is mainly provided by self-employed GPs. Other health professionals are rarely integrated into primary care. But, according to the political plans of the Austrian government, a system of community nurses and community health nurses should be implemented and several pilot projects have already been started. (2) Objective: The present study explores the skills and competences needed in the planning, management and collaboration for the change in the system and gives recommendations for community health nurse education in Austria. (3) Methodology: Fifteen qualitative, problem-centered interviews were conducted with experts in the field of community health nursing and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. (4) Results: The skills and competences often and widely mentioned are interprofessional collaboration, cooperation with other actors, systems thinking, project and change management, and basic management skills, including strategic planning, communication, accounting and finance. Areas such as health planning and lobbying are also highlighted. The main competences are broken down into subcompetences, making it possible to create a detailed competence grid. Competences in planning, management and collaboration are particularly important in the initial stages of the first implementation of a community health nursing system. (5) Conclusions: Skills and competences in these areas occupy a central position. A multilayered breakdown of these competences is required in order to create a targeted requirements profile. Due to the small-scale fragmentation of the Austrian health care system, collaboration and coordination are more difficult and costly, but all the more important. The aforementioned skills and competences represent an essential expansion of nursing education in Austria.

Population health management (PHM) has emerged as a pivotal strategy in healthcare, aiming to address the health needs of communities while enhancing care quality and outcomes. Recent years have witnessed a surge in research at the intersection of data analytics and public health interventions within the realm of PHM. This paper presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the literature on data analytics and public health interventions in the context of population health management. Through systematic data collection from reputable scholarly databases and rigorous analysis, this study aims to map out the trends, key contributors, and emerging themes shaping the discourse in this domain. The analysis encompasses publication trends, authorship patterns, citation metrics, and network visualizations to provide insights into the landscape of literature. Notable findings include a high citation rate per paper and author, indicative of scholarly interest and collaboration within the research community. Key themes identified include outcomes, interventions, population health improvement, determinants, and health disparities. Additionally, temporal analysis reveals a shift towards non-communicable diseases and the increasing role of data in patient care. The author collaboration network highlights a core cluster of researchers with extensive collaborative ties, alongside peripheral authors and topics representing specialized or nascent areas. The density visualization map identifies potential areas for future research, including health disparities, women's health issues, and geographic-specific studies.

Background The transition period for newly qualified registered nurses/midwives (NQRN/Ms) is a fundamental phase in their career. Yet, transition experiences have been studied mostly within urban and/or specialised healthcare settings in high-resource countries. This study aimed to explore and describe the experiences of NQRN/Ms in a rural health district in Namibia. Methods A qualitative, descriptive, explorative, and contextual design was followed. The sample consisted of eight participants who were purposively selected. Data were collected via in-depth individual interviews and analysed following a reflexive thematic analysis. The researchers were guided by Lincoln and Guba’s strategies for establishing trustworthiness. Findings Themes conceptualised from the analysis include encounters with rural community members; encounters with colleagues; staffing, management, and supervision; shortage of resources; poor infrastructure; unreliable communication networks; and the lack of social life. Conclusion The NQRN/Ms had mixed experiences related to a variety of aspects such as social life, resources, colleagues and community members. These findings can be used to improve undergraduate nursing curricula, as well as to create graduate job preparation workshops and support networks.
