“…If further amplification is possible, it allows speculation about photodetecting materials based on Pc 2 RE in this range. Besides, a certain enhancement of the spectral response of photocurrent in solar cells employing active phthalocyanine layers could be achieved by involving the NIR component [21].…”

“…Some researchers believe that the improved conductivity is provided by the contribu tion from the migration of electrons along the π stacking axis due to an organic electron donor ligand [100] or due to the formation of ion radical salts [33,95]. According to others, in the formation of a crys tal, the topmost filled donor level and the lowest unfilled acceptor level can be split into zones of allowed states: the valence band and the conduction band.…”

“…The authors of [92] studied the effect of peripheral substitution in the molecules of MPcs on the semiconducting properties of MPcs and came to a similar conclusion about the multidimensional impact of the peripheral substituents in the macrocycle of MPcs. The authors report that the introduction of electron acceptor (oxygen [92] or halogen contain ing group [93][94][95]) substituents in the phthalocyanine molecule will theoretically increase the electrical conductivity, in comparison with an unsubstituted macroheterocycle, due to changes in the molecular orbital energy of the macromolecule. However, the peripheral substituents of MPcs will also affect the "effectiveness" of the crystal packing, determine the intermolecular (interatomic) distances, and, ulti mately, affect the width of the forbidden energy band; the latter factor may dominate [92].…”
