STRUCTURE OF A NEWMOLECULAR RHENIUM CLUSTER COMPLEX: trans-{[Ni(NH 3 ) 5 ] 2 × [Re 6 Se 8 (CN) 4 (OH) 2 ]}⋅6H 2 O A. V. Ermolaev, A. I. Smolentsev, and Yu. V. Mironov UDC 548.734:541.49:546.719:546.23 Counter-diffusion of the aqueous solution of Cs 2.75 K 1.25 [Re 6 Se 8 (CN) 4 (OH) 2 ] and a water-ammonia solution of NiCl 2 afforded crystals of a rhenium cluster complex trans-{[Ni(NH 3 ) 5 ] 2 [Re 6 Se 8 (CN) 4 (OH) 2 ]}⋅6H 2 O.The structure of the complex is determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. In the structure, nickel atoms have an octahedral coordination environment involving nitrogen atoms of five NH 3 ligands and one CN ligand of the cluster anion. The anion has two bridging CN ligands in the trans-positions.
