“…Referring to the names of the components of peaks 17 and 24 , the component of peak 16 was temporarily named as 6′-trans-sinapoyl shanzhiside. To the best of our knowledge, this component was first detected in GF [ 1 , 4 9 ].…”

“…Gardeniae Fructus (GF), the desiccative ripe fruit of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis (Rubiaceae), is a well-known and frequently used traditional medicine officially recorded in the Chinese and Japanese Pharmacopoeias [ 1 – 3 ]. To date, nearly 200 phytochemicals have been isolated and identified from GF [ 1 , 4 9 ], which mainly include iridoids, crocins, monocyclic monoterpenoids, organic acids, and flavonoids [ 1 , 10 ]. The representative components of iridoids include geniposide, genipin gentiobioside, gardenoside, shanzhiside, deacetyl asperulosidic acid methyl ester (DAAEM), and scandoside methyl ester (SME) [ 11 , 12 ], crocins include crocin I and crocin II [ 13 ], monocyclic monoterpenoids include jasminoside A, jasminoside B, and 6′-O-trans-sinapoyl jasminoside A [ 14 ], and organic acids and flavonoids including chlorogenic acid and rutin [ 15 ].…”

“…Iridoid glycosides require low collision energy for cleavage and easily produce fragment ions [20], Compound 7 was an iridoid compound, in the negative ion mode, the fragmentation produced under high collision energy conditions is more abundant and stable, and the excimer ion was formylated fragment ion By searching the literature on the relevant components and searching the MS database [21], it was inferred that compound 7 was geniposide, and the possible pathways of MS/MS data cleavage were shown in Figure 5.…”

“…According to this cleavage pattern, combined with the results of UNIFI targeting screening, the other classes are mainly compounded with a limited variety of relatively low response values in ZBD. Combined with literature reports [21,24,25], a total of seven compounds were preliminarily identified (in order of Compounds 1, 24, 36, 54, 79, 111, and 115), and the specific mass spectral information was shown in Table S2. In general, 122 compounds in ZBD, including flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, organic acids, and other components, were identified and partially identified by using the UPLC-Q-TOF-MS E technique combined with UNIFI software to analyze the chemical composition of ZBD.…”

“…Recently, two new iridoid glycosides (genipin 1,10-di- O -α- l -rhamnoide, and genipin 1,10-di- O -β- d -xylopyranoside) were isolated from gardenia fructus, the dried fruits of G. jasminoides [ 11 ]. The authors note that these compounds may act as tyrosinase inhibitors and antioxidants.…”
