Abstract:Previous work of the authors on the use of overlapping parametrizations of finitedifference equations in the identification of multivariable systems is continued. By considering numerical and accuracy issues, a two-stage, IV-based, joint parametrization-selection and parameter-estimation scheme is proposed. The parametrization selection seeks to ensure that the estimation problems are numerically well conditioned, whereas the second stage ensures statistical efficiency in certain circumstances.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
