Abstract:The generation of new laser devices, techniques, ideas, and applications continued at an unslowing pace during 1963–1966. While no large‐scale or commercially important laser applications have yet emerged, lasers have found innumerable and often irreplaceable applications both in science and in technology. Increasing numbers of useful commercial applications are slowly beginning to emerge at the end of the period.
