Über die Reaktionsweisen des Phosphorpentachlorids (II. Mitteil.)

Abstract: I455Die Reinigung der Verbindung erfolgt auf dieselbe Weise wie bei den Xi-Salzen. Die konstant gemachte Substanz ist dunkelgrun und sehr empfindlich gegen Feuchtigkeit. “…They were able to demonstrate the presence of regenerated phenylisopropylpotassium in the final reaction products by isolating The polymerization of butadiene In the next series of experiments the alkali metal compounds were decomposed by carbon dioxide at the time of minimum color intensity and the influence of varying proportions of butadiene was studied. The results appear in table 15. In agreement with the hypothesis of Ziegler and Kleiner the equivalent weights of the acids and the number of double bonds per equivalent increase when larger proportions of butadiene are used.…”

“…C2H5Br + C2H5Na -» NaBr + C2H4 + C2H6 (15) It should be noted that the isolation of the alkali alkyl is not always necessary in order to carry out these reactions, but that the same products may be obtained in many instances with a mixture of the alkali metal and the corresponding mercury alkyl (175).…”

“…Drying over anhydrous calcium chloride and distillation gave pure o-dichlorobenzene (bp 178.5-179 °C). Di-tert-butyl peroxide (K&K Laboratories, Inc.) was distilled before use, bp [55][56] °C (120 mm). Benzyl mercaptan (Aldrich Chemical Co., Inc.) was used without further purification.…”

“…The only two cases of the cycloisomerization of a vinylbenzene system known at present are (a) the isomerization of as-phenyl-o-biphenylethylene (XI) into 9-phenyl-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (XII), observed under the influence of phosphorus pentachloride (11,14), U-h and (6) the isomerization of l-methyI-2-a-naphthyl-l-cyclohexene (XIII), which, by cyclization and subsequent dehydrogenation, gives fluoranthene (XIV) (41):…”
