UHECR narrow clustering correlating IceCube through-going muons

Abstract: The recent UHECR events by AUGER and the Telescope Array (TA) suggested that wide clusterings as the North and South, named Hot Spot, are related to near AGNs such as the one in M82 and Cen A (as most authors and us convened). In the same frame since 2008 we assumed that the UHECR are made by light and lightest nuclei to explain the otherwise embarrassing absence of the huge nearby Virgo cluster, absence due to the fragility and the opacity of lightest nuclei by photo-dissociation from Virgo distances. Moreove… Show more

“…In the same section we also discuss the case of an unexplained clustering correlated to a half cosmic radius 1 far source: 3C454. We proposed [9] and confirm here that this clustering, if growing (as it is) and being confirmed, might be associated and originated by a far beamed AGN, whose ZeV neutrino are scattering onto a relic cosmic neutrino background (with 1 − 2eV mass) via Z boson resonance (the so called Z burst model) [10][11][12][13]. Indeed the UHE ZeV neutrinos, emitted by far AGN do not interact with the cosmic photons and do not suffer of a GZK cutoff.…”

“…The poor shower (or cascade) directionality has been forcing us toward a more meaningful astronomy, even made mainly by through-going or crossing induced neutrino muons [4]. Within first several dozens of highest energy ICECUBE events we searched a signal correlation among these sources, [5,6]. More recent analogous attempts have been considered [7].…”
