Uhplc/MS Assessment of Polyphenolic Acids and Radical Scavenging Activity of Salvia Species From the South-West of Romania Flora

Abstract:Five species of Salvia harvested from Oltenia region flora, Romania, were analysed for polyphenolic and flavonoid content and radical scavenging activity using UHPLC/MS, Folin-Ciocâlteu, and AlCl3 spectrophotometric methods, respectively, DPPH and ABTS assays. UHPLC profiling revealed the presence of two polyphenolic carboxylic acids (rosmarinic and caffeic) and two flavonoids (luteolin and isoquercitrin) in all Salvia extracts.
