UiO-66/Carboxylated Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube Composites for Highly Efficient and Stable Voltammetric Sensors for Gatifloxacin

Xuan Wan,

et al.

Abstract: The excessive use of gatifloxacin (GAT) can seriously pollute the environment and damage human health. Therefore, reliable detection of its concentration is essential for environmental protection and physical health. Herein, an efficient and stable voltammetric sensor based on zirconium-based metal–organic framework/carboxylated multiwalled nanotube nanocomposites (UiO-66/MWCNT-COOH) was constructed for the determination of GAT. The morphologies, microstructures, and electrochemical properties of UiO-66/MWCNT-… Show more

“…They possess variable structure types, large surface areas, abundant metal active sites, and pore volume. As a result, the use of MOFs for a variety of purposes is very common, including gas storage, separation, catalysis, medication administration, and more . Iron, aluminum, zirconium, lanthanum, nickel, and cerium are the most common metals used for MOF synthesis .…”

“…The inherent challenges associated with metal phthalocyanine-multiwalled carbon nanotube (MPc-MWCNT) composite-modified electrodes can be effectively addressed by electropolymerizing conductive polymers onto the CME surface. This approach leads to the formation of a more robust CME with improved electron-transfer kinetics. A recent study by Kantize et al. demonstrated this strategy by modifying a platinum electrode using a CoPc tetra -substituted with coumarin moieties, carboxylic acid-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes ( f -MWCNTs), and Nafion (Nf) .…”
