Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Fano-Like Resonance between Optical Phonon and Excitons in CdSe Quantum Dots: Dependence of Coherent Vibrational Wave-Packet Dynamics on Pump Fluence

Abstract: The main goal of the present work is to study the coherent phonon in strongly confined CdSe quantum dots (QDs) under varied pump fluences. The main characteristics of coherent phonons (amplitude, frequency, phase, spectrogram) of CdSe QDs under the red-edge pump of the excitonic band [1S(e)-1S3/2(h)] are reported. We demonstrate for the first time that the amplitude of the coherent optical longitudinal-optical (LO) phonon at 6.16 THz excited in CdSe nanoparticles by a femtosecond unchirped pulse shows a non-mo… Show more

“…Raman spectroscopy analysis was conducted using a Broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (BCARS) microspectrometer implemented as part of a femtosecond laser complex [ 61 ] representing a two-pulse collinear scheme for CARS generation [ 62 ]. Related spectra were transformed to Raman bands using the CARS-variation of MEM [ 63 , 64 ].…”

“…A femtosecond pump (Spectra-Physics, Santa Clara, CA, USA)—supercontinuum probe setup was used to register the transient absorption (TA) spectra of the Au/TiO 2 colloids as reported recently [ 29 ]. The femtosecond pump pulse of 25 fs centered at 740 nm (1.68 eV) and a low fluency of 24 μJ/cm 2 was used to excite the Au/TiO 2 nanoparticles in solution.…”

“…The pump and probe light spots had the diameters of 300 and 120 µm, respectively. The measured TA spectra were corrected for group delay dispersion of the supercontinuum using a protocol described previously [ 29 ]. Details of the femtosecond setup are shown in the Supplementary Information, Section SI3 .…”

“…The temperature of the cell was 293 K. The measured spectra were corrected to account for the group delay dispersion of the supercontinuum by the procedure described in Supplementary Information (Section S1). Details of the setup are presented elsewhere [26,33,34].…”
