Ultralong Red Room-Temperature Phosphorescence of 2D Organic–Inorganic Metal Halide Perovskites for Afterglow Red LEDs and X-ray Scintillation Applications

Xiangyu Chen,
Min Li,

et al.

Abstract: Organic−inorganic metal hybrid perovskites (OIHPs) have emerged as a promising class of materials for next-generation optoelectronic applications. However, the realization of red and near-infrared (NIR) room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) in these materials remains limited. In this study, a very strong red RTP emission centered at 610 nm is achieved by doping Mn 2+ ions into Cd-based 2D OIHPs. Notably, the optimized B-EACC:Mn 2+ exhibited a high quantum yield of 44.11%, an ultralong lifetime of up to 378 ms… Show more

“…This competitive behavior indicates the possible triplet energy transfer (TET) process between organic Cyt and the inorganic Sb 3+ dopant. Such TET from organic cation to metal ion dopant is also observed in Mn 2+ -doped Cd-based perovskite . The PL QY increases up to 95% once the doping level is raised to 10%.…”

“…Therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of flexible scintillators. Compared with the planar scintillators based on Pb-free OIHPs, , the foldable and coiling m PC-M@PLA film has more advantages in flexible X-ray imaging (Figures S22 and MV video in the SI). A bent copper sheet was placed on the m PC-M@PLA film to measure its flexible X-ray imaging (Figure c).…”

“…Long-afterglow MOF materials have broad application prospects in sensing [83,86], displays [87], information security [88,89], biomedicine [90], photocatalysis [91] and other fields. Due to the advantages of host-guest afterglow MOF materials, such as the luminescent properties of the guest material and the porous channels of the host MOF material, the host-guest combination leads to longer or multi-color luminescence, making it highly advantageous for applications.…”
