“…The clinical administration of WOW emulsion-encapsulated anticancer reagent in inner droplets was reported to be surprisingly effective for both terminal and multiorigin HCC. [33][34][35] And in this current study, we observed tumour growth suppression after neutron irradiation of the 10 BSH-entrapped WOW emulsion-injected group compared with the noninjected group receiving thermal irradiation only, indicating the efficacy of BNCT treatment in the killing of cancer cells. The biodistribution results confirmed that the 10 BSH-entrapped WOW emulsion can deliver and retain boron atoms in cancer cells in tumour tissues, suggesting that WOW emulsions could represent a novel boron delivery carrier for BNCT of cancer using intra-arterial techniques.…”

“…The WOW does not contain embolic substances, so temporal ischemic change occurs after intra-arterial chemotherapy. Thereafter, WOW is easily flushed out through the venous and lymphatic drainage systems in normal hepatic tissues (7,27,28). We realized that our WOW sized 70 μm was stable 10 months after preparation.…”

“…The slow release of anticancer drugs from the WOW can minimize cytotoxic damage to the normal hepatic parenchyma. Ikushima et al reported that the 3-year survival rate of patients with HCC following intra-arterial chemotherapy with WOW was 76% (27,28). The WOW can deliver higher dose of the anticancer drugs and prolong the contact time of drugs with the tumor.…”

“…For the recurrent hepatic cancer investigation, Yanagie synthesized a technique in which BSH (B-10 isotope) contains WOW (water-in-oil-in-water) emulsion. It is applicable to treat recurrent hepatic cancer as previously Epitubic that containing WOW emulsion in hepatic arteries chemotherapy for patient treatment [24]. Here, SERA is using as Treatment planning has an equivalent dose of 12.044 Gy for mean tumor, 19.0 Gy for maximum, and 5.044 Gy Doses for normal mucosa uses in 56 minutes irradiation.…”
