Ultrasonic Inspection of Rotary-Shouldered Connections

Abstract: This paper presents the results of a research project that combined laboratory investigation and field data to identify the parameters that affect the sensitivity and reliability of an ultrasonic system of inspection for rotary-shouldered connections. Variations of the' parameters were introduced in a controlled environment so that the type and magnitude of their effect could be determined and quantified.
