Ultrasound elastography and characterization of soft tissue mimicking phantoms

Abstract: Ultrasound elastography, a noninvasive method of measuring the elastic properties of soft tissues, was investigated using a correlation technique. Phantoms, used in elastography research to mimic biological soft tissue, were fabricated to resemble a tumor using graphite powder as scatterers and two different agar concentrations, 2-w% and 3-w% agar for the background and tumor, respectively.
