Ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of female infertility

Abstract: Advances during the last 20 years have enabled couples who previously believed themselves to be infertile to have children. Diagnosis and effective treatment of infertility can be a complex procedure. Ultrasound is a relatively cheap non-invasive method of monitoring changes in the female reproductive system and can be used in a wide range of infertility situations, from baseline pelvic assessment to monitoring of treatment for in-vitro fertilization.
