Abstract:Under excitation at 980 nm, Tm 3+ may emit ultraviolet, blue, and red light, and Ho 3+ may emit green light through multiphoton upconversion processes in Yb/Tm/Ho codoped materials. However, because the probability of the electron population of the higher excited state energy levels is much lower than that of the lower ones in multiphoton upconversion processes, it is difficult to observe the ultraviolet emission of Tm 3+ -doped single crystals under excitation at 980 nm. Here, we report that high-quality sing… Show more
High-quality LSZ and LSZ:Yb0.25Tm0.5Ho0.03 single crystals were grown for the first time. Under 980 nm excitation, LSZ:Yb0.25Tm0.5Ho0.03 crystal has high efficiency over YSZ:Yb0.25Tm0.5Ho0.03 crystal in ultraviolet and visible light emissions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
